About Us

We are a husband and wife duo that truly enjoy bringing music and dance to the lives of many.  We absolutely LOVE what we do! :-).

From owning + operating a Social Dance School in Downtown Leesburg (Dance King Studios), to collaborating with local venues + schools for special DJ + Dance events, to helping couples get ready for their first dance and/or Djing their weddings - it's all such an incredible blessing to us.  We love the people we meet, the friendships built, the lives that are impacted positively, marriages that have been reconciled, and the genuine community that has been created around music and dance.

Adam has been teaching dance for  20 + years, trained in ballroom at Arthur Murray for seven years, taught at venues like Reston Salsa Sundays, and officially opened the doors to Dance King Studios in 2012.  He took his first Swing dance class in college to meet women, and has been dancing ever since!  It worked because he met his now wife, April through dance! :-)

April has been dancing and teaching for 10 + years, getting her start at DanceSportVA in VA Beach.  She  joined Adam at the studio in 2017, where they met,  became business partners, and fell in love.  April, like Adam,  also took her first ballroom class in college and was hooked! She trained in ballroom at DanceSportVA and also got certified to teach as a group fitness instructor,  personal trainer, and yoga teacher.

 

Adam and April embarked on the journey of becoming DJs when after so many community events bringing speakers and music and "unofficially" being the DJ, they decided to make it official in 2019 and offer a unique blend of DJ services with dance instruction.

When asked what we  enjoy most about being a DJ...

 

Knowing that we help create a vibe and atmosphere where folks can really cut loose and have fun.  There is a special place for our wedding couples as well...creating a relationship together over the months, weeks and days leading up to their big day, both as their dance instructor, and as their DJ — getting to know who they are and what they like.  Learning what kind of music they connect with in the course of Private Lessons makes all the difference for both them and for us to make their wedding extra special."
